Q. How do you feel about selling virtual items for real money? (Do NOT advertise RMT services!) (Answer!)
A. Well, whatever floats your boat. It's not something I've personally ever done or will do - I work hard for the things I earn in game, and like the challenge of tracking things down myself. Just plunking down money for it would suck all the fun right out of having the item! And there's no story associated with it then - no brave tale of hours spent camping so-and-so, only to have him not spawn, or coming across a very rare spawn purely by accident, or what have you.

No, not my cup of tea at all. :)
Q. What do you love or hate about PVP? (Answer!)
A. I love the adrenaline rush of taking down other living, breathing, thinking humans. They're so unpredictable, and a win is very rarely certain!

I hate lag. But who doesn't? ;)
Q. When you are not playing games, what do you do for fun? (Answer!)
Q. What are your thoughts on roleplaying in games? (Answer!)
A. I LOVE IT. I cannot stress that enough! It's more engrossing than any other aspect of gameplay for me - often to the point of neglecting the rest of the game. It took *years* for me to finally level Cirig to 50 - I would just rather roleplay. I'd still rather just roleplay. :)

That being said, I wish more games had roleplaying communities like the one I found on Dark Age of Camelot. Never before or since have I had the opportunity to meet and share with so many fantastic people. I miss them all like crazy, and hope we'll all meet again in Warhammer Online.
Q. Do you feel relationships within games are meaningful? (Answer!)
A. Absolutely they are - if you'd asked me ten years ago, though, I'd have laughed. Nobody I met online could possibly have become anything close to a friend.

That all changed when I started playing in Nimue. The people I've met there, I'd certainly venture to call friends, even though I've never met most of them. I'd really like to, but they're spread all over the place. I know more about most of them than I do about the real live people I work with every day. :)
Q. What is your first computer or video gaming memory? (Answer!)
A. Playing Breakout on our Atari 2600. Had video game systems from then on! Didn't have a computer in the house until I was almost finished highschool, though.
Q. How do you feel about playing characters of the opposite sex? (Answer!)
A. I'm down with that, obviously. I don't think I do a half bad job of it, either. Most people had no idea unless I told them. :)

I tend to play opposite sex characters for the challenge of it - and to see things from a different perspective.
Q. Other than your console or PC, what is the piece of hardware you can't live without? (Answer!)
A. Hmm. Probably the TV. I don't have a cell phone or an iPod, or even a laptop. Just my 'puter, my PS2, and my TV. :)
Q. What do your characters and avatars usually look like? (Answer!)
A. Er. They're kind of all over the place. Generally, I like the bigger races, except when I like to play the smaller ones. Usually I play males, but I also enjoy playing female characters. Sometimes they have brown hair, sometimes they have red. Or black. Or white. Or green.

I think you get the picture. :)
Q. Where did you get your gaming names from? (Answer!)
A. Cirig was a randomly generated name. So were Taoni and Gazra and Sazu, my two World of Warcraft characters. I just keep spamming the random button until I get something short, racially appropriate, and hopefully not already taken.

When I do pick names, I usually try to go for simple ones, both to type and remember, and definitely ones that fit into the world I'm playing in.
Q. Why do you join guilds or clans? (Answer!)
A. The first and foremost reason is because I like or subscribe to their roleplaying philosophy. I might also join a guild or clan because my friends are there. If there are no guilds that I think I'd like to roleplay with, and my friends aren't playing that particular game, I'll go guildless.
Q. What are your most memorable achievements in a game? (Answer!)
A. DAoC:

1. Being a part of the wild ride that was (and still is) the guild Siabra.

2. Leading my own raid. It was scary as hell, but I managed to accomplish what I'd set out to do, and had a lot of fun on the way.

3. Beating what was, at the time, every major baddie in the game at one time or another with Nurgh, who is made of awesome.

4. I may have mentioned this once or twice (or three hundred times) already, but meeting and making friends with the greatest community of roleplayers it has ever been my good fortune to meet. God willing, we'll all meet again in DAoC 2: The Search for More Money. :)
Q. Are you interested in working within the game industry? (Answer!)
A. My first, impulsive answer to this question is always HELL YES, in the way that it would be awesome to be on TV or make a movie. But when I sit down and think on it, I change my mind. The magic of games for me is that I don't know what's coming up next. I don't know that I would enjoy playing a game whose inner workings I helped create. :)
Q. What are your favorite tabletop (RPG, board, miniatures, etc.) games? (Answer!)
A. Gosh, what isn't? I haven't played many games I didn't like, and it's so hard to pick a favourite . . . if pressed, though, I would have to choose With Great Power, about the coolest damn super hero RPG I have ever played, followed closely by Vampire: the Masquerade, and the RPG formerly known as Champions (I think it's called Hero System now, or something).

As for miniatures, nothing beats Warhammer Fantasy for me. I play Bretonnians, and I love my men in cans! I really hope they add Bretonnians as a playable race in Warhammer Online down the road, but I'm not holding my breath. :)
Q. How many hours a week do you play? (Answer!)
A. No, I feel voice chat detracts from the game
Q. If you could bring any book, movie or comic to life in a game, which would you choose? (Answer!)
A. Lord of the Rings would have been my first choice, but that's been done. :) After that, Batman, Batman, totally Batman! It would be a terrible game, because who *wouldn't* want to be Batman? Gotham would be inundated!
Q. What are the specs on your gaming rig? (Answer!)
A. Too embarrassing to share. ;) Upgrading before WAR, though!
Q. What sort of players annoy you the most? (Answer!)
A. The kind that derive joy from making others miserable.
